2010 WHALE SPOTTING
SEPTEMBER 16TH!
Baby Naturalist: "Searching for Dolphins" dvd's were again provided for Tongan children as part of the Whale Spotting program
* A sad note: 2010. Although several boats looked for hours, a calf that had been entangled, and sited briefly twice, was not found by the crew who was to attempt to cut the calf free.
Thanks to Ed Lyman from the Hawaiian Islands National Humpback Whale Sanctuary for the educational dvd on whale disentanglement. The video was shown during whale season in Vava'u and copies given to
Allistair: President Vava'u Whale Watch Assoc.
Karen: Dive Vava'u, Marine Educator and Sponsor of this years Whale Spotting Count with Reef Kids International
Rae: Whaleswim tour company operator *special thanks to Rae and Tony for photos of the entangled calf and all those who helped search for the calf
